How we work

What happens after you say yes.

A 90-day start, then a rhythm that follows the tax year. You’ll always know what’s next and who’s doing it.

The first 90 days

From yes to fully running.

Day 1

Welcome and documents

You get one secure upload link and a short list: last two returns, statements, equity grant documents, estate papers. Your lead advisor calls to walk through it.

Weeks 1–3

Accounts opened and moved

We open accounts at the custodian in your name and handle the transfer paperwork. We don’t sell anything that would trigger a large gain until we’ve modeled the tax.

Weeks 3–6

Tax review and projection

A CPA reads your returns and builds a projection for this year and next. This is where most of the first decisions come from.

Weeks 6–9

Plan meeting

We present one written plan covering investments, taxes, retirement, equity and estate, with each decision dated. You leave with a list of what happens when.

Day 90

Portfolio in place, calendar set

Your portfolio is invested, your estimated payments are scheduled and your check-ins are on the calendar for the year.

Every year

Four check-ins, set by the tax calendar.

1

January–March

Documents in, return prepared, reviewed and filed. Last-chance IRA and HSA contributions for the prior year.

2

April–June

Plan review and a first projection for the year ahead. Estimated payments reset from your actual income.

3

July–September

Mid-year check: equity vests, business income, anything that changed. Charitable and gifting plans for the fall.

4

October–December

Year-end projection in November. Harvesting, Roth conversions, gifts and required distributions done by December 31.

Our standards

Promises you can hold us to.

1 business day

Reply to every client email or call, from your lead advisor or someone who knows your file.

1 lead advisor

The same person for all of it, backed by a CPA who prepares your return.

4 check-ins

Scheduled a year ahead, and more when something changes.

2 reviewers

Every return is prepared by one professional and reviewed by another before it’s filed.

12 households

The most new households we take on in a quarter, so the standards above hold.

Safety

Your money isn’t held by us, and that’s the point.

Your investments sit at an independent custodian, in accounts in your name. You get statements and online access directly from them, so you can check our work any day.

We can trade and deduct our fee. We can’t withdraw money or send it to anyone but you. Any request to move money is confirmed with you by phone, on a number we already have.

Documents come to us through an encrypted portal, never email attachments. Staff use hardware security keys, and our written security policy is available on request.

Quarterly check-ins sound like a formality until one of them catches an estimated payment you’d have missed.

Next step

Ninety days from now, this could all be running.

Start with a 30-minute call. We’ll tell you what the first 90 days would focus on for you.

We reply within one business day.
